Nepal is home to mountains and multi-ethnic people. Every year thousands of people visit this beautiful Himalayan country. There are numerous places where one can knit together a momentous holiday. However, there are numerous factors which hinder the holidaying plans. Major factors which come in the way of having an amazing holiday in Nepal are time, finances and the right destination/activity. Therefore, today’s blog is all about the top 3 trekking routes where one can do One Week Treks in Nepal.
Trekking is the major touristic activity in Nepal. The presence of over 19000 mountains makes it a heaven for walking trips. No wonder people come to Nepal either for the expedition or to trek up to the base camp of the mountains. Base Camp Trekking in Nepal requires lots of days. Therefore, not many people prefer to do these treks even if they wish to do so. In order to address this issue, I have identified these three trekking destinations. These trekking routes of Nepal are beautiful and have enough places where one can have the best mountain vistas.
Top One Week Treks in Nepal
- Everest View Trek
- Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek
- Langtang Valley Trek
There are many trekking routes in Nepal where one can enjoy either trekking or touring in less than a week. Among such trekking routes, these three trekking trails offer a great Himalayan experience and diverse nature as well as cultural aspects of Nepal.
Let’s know more about these top one-week treks in Nepal.
Everest View Trek
Mount Everest (8,848.86 m) is the world’s tallest mountain and is the pride of the Nepalese people. Reaching the base camp of Everest requires two weeks of trekking. It is not possible for all. However, one can get the experience of an abode of the world’s tallest mountain Mt. Everest in less than a week’s vacation.
Trekkers follow the similar itinerary of Everest Base Camp Trek. Flight to Lukla and trekking inside Sagarmatha National Park happen in this trekking too. Trekkers have two choices. Make your choice according to your preference. You can either trek up to Tengboche Monastery or Namche Bazaar surrounding. My recommendation is to trek up to Tengboche Monastery.
The view of Mt. Everest along with the valley of Pangboche (3,985 m) from Tengboche (3,860 m) is breathtaking. The world’s most beautiful mountain Mt. Amadablam (6,812 m) on the backdrop and spiritual monastery make your final destination memorable. Moreover, you can visit Sherpa villages like Khumjung and Khunde too.
Major Highlights of this Trekking are:

Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek
Ghandruk Poon Hill Trek is the jewel of the Annapurna region of Nepal. It is the best short trek in Nepal. Trekkers who don’t have enough time to reach Annapurna Base Camp prefer to do Poon Hill Trek. The final destination is on the ABC trek route. Therefore, it provides the feeling of doing ABC Trek too. Moreover, it follows the same itinerary up to Ghorepani.
There are two to three ways of doing this trekking in Nepal. You can either start your trekking from Nayapul/Birethanti or from Ulleri/Tikhedhunga. Nowadays people prefer to do this trekking from Ghandruk too. Therefore, trekkers can have many options in terms of the trailhead.
My recommendation is to take a private jeep or local jeep to Ulleri and finish the trek in Ghandruk (2,012 m). The construction of new roads has shortened the walking route. It is not recommended to walk on the dusty hilly road. As you start your trekking from Ulleri, you will have to walk uphill through lush green forests until you reach Ghorepani. This place is situated at the top of a hill overlooking mountains and cascading hills. During the spring season, the blossoming rhododendron makes the place overwhelmingly momentous.
The view of over 2 dozen mountains is another highlight of the trekking. The sunrise experience from the top of Poon Hill (3,210 m) is once in a lifetime experience. Relish the dawn which starts with the first ray of sun kissing the tip of snowcapped mountains.
Major Highlights of this Trekking are:
- Vantage Point
- Gurung, Magar, Brahmins, Chhetris & Sudra Villages
- Green Lush Forests
- Rivers & Waterfalls
- Lake City Pokhara
- Ghandruk & Ghorepani Village
- More than 2 dozens of Mountain Vista
