Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
You will arrive on this day at Tribhuvan International Airport, in Kathmandu. A representative from Karma Eco Adventure will transfer you to your hotel. You can take your time to stroll around and see the surroundings of your accommodation.
Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Preparation
On this day we get busy with a couple of things; one making the last-minute paperwork for your trekking and second, sightseeing some rare UNESCO world heritage sites. Meanwhile, our backend staff will make ready all the permits to take along on the trail. Simultaneously, our guide will help you get acquainted with the country by taking you to different heritage sites. In the evening, you will be briefed about your trek either in your hotel or over the welcome dinner.
Day 03: Flight from Nepalgunj to Simikot (1-hour flight) Helicopter flight to Hilsa and Drive to Purang
The early morning flight of about one hour will take you to the Simikot. The scenic flight presents an awesome geographical landscape for tourists to see. The Simikot airport is also equally captivating. The helicopter will be waiting for you to take you to the Hilsa. You can choose to trek from Simikot to Hilsa but these days because of the fear of landslides people are using choppers for the ride to Hilsa. It is the bordering town between Tibet (China) and Nepal. The bus drive brought by the Tibetan representatives will take you to the town of Purang after half an hour of drive for the overnight stay.
Day 4: Drive to Manasarovar Lake (4550m- 2 Hours) Overnight at Local Guest House or in Camp
After breakfast drive to Manasarovar Lake. Manasarovar Lake is one of the biggest lakes situated in high altitude on the Tibetan plateau. Thousands of pilgrimages every year come to take holy baths in Manasarovar Lake. You will have enough time to explore Chui gumba and hot spring near the Lake. The clear view of Mount Kailash is also seen from Manasarovar.
Day 5: Drive to Darchen (4670m – 1 Hour) Overnight at Guest House
We drive to Darchen {foot of the mount Kailash}, Darchen town & also the Tibetan medicine center as well as the big city in the Kailash area. We repack our bags here to leave some at the hotel and carry a minimum at our 3 days Kailash Parikrama/ Kora. This is also the place to fix personal horses and helper for Kailash Kora. This is in case you need it, but normally fit people do not need it. You also can buy some dry foods for 3 days trekking.
Day 6: Trek to Dirapuk (5000m – 5 Hours) Overnight at Guest house or in Camp
Start Mt. Kailash Kora Today, we start Mount Kailash Kora from Darchen. Our first 6-kilometer distance is driving with our regular transportation and the rest of 14 kilometers is easy trekking. We will carry only certain and important camping stuff which is carried by Yaks or by a helper. Reach north face of Kailash, Derapuk.
Day 7: Trek to Juthulpuk (4600m) crossing by Dolma La pass (5613m) 8/9 Hours
Second day Mount Kailash Kora from Derapuk takes place. We start earlier today to reach Juthulpuk. Today is tough day of the trip which takes 8 to 9 hours of walking. Gradually up hills is the hard part until reaching Dolma La pass. After Dolma la, the trekking path immediately starts downhill. Reach at Juthulpuk overnight.
Day 8: Trek 3 hours and drive 1 hour to Horchu (Manasarovar)
Exploration of Juthulpuk Monastery in the morning time after breakfast is the first thing to do. Start trekking again for about 3 hours up to near Darchen and drive with our driving crew to Horchu near Lake Manasarovar. Explore and take rest more than half day timing.
Day 9: Drive to Saga (4640 m – 5 Hours) Overnight at Camp or in Guest House
Drive towards Nepal from a different road. Drive on a well-paved road provides the scenic landscape of the Tibetan plateau. Typical settlements of local Tibetan villages are also passing through our driving. Reach Saga town, another big city after Darchen and overnight.
Day 10: Drive to Kerung - Syaprubeshi (2300m – 8 Hours) Overnight at Hotel
Today, we drive to Kerung with the massive view of Mount Shishapangma to the right-hand side and front peaks. Some of them lie in Tibet & some in Nepal like the peaks of Rolwaling. The journey would be amazing back topped road then bumpy road then a good quality road up to Shyapurbeshi.
Day 11: Drive to Kathmandu (7 Hours – 1350m). Overnight at Hotel
The rural highway bus drive will take you back to Kathmandu. Our representatives will drop you at the hotel in Kathmandu
Day 12: Departure
