Makalu base camp trek is the trek to the first base camp of the 5th highest mountain Mount Makalu. Makalu is the most difficult mountain to summit because of the steep climbs and exposed ridges. Similar to the expedition is the trek to the base camp. It is not a child’s play but it is one heck of an adventure with very few options for trekkers. It lies in one of the remotest and most remorse parts of the country. Furthermore, the ecosystem is considered very fragile and the conservation area restricts trekkers to strict itineraries.
