We spent 10 days... read more trekking through the Lantang valley. The first three days were through non-touristic routes, which was a truly enriching experience: the little towns where we slept were some of our porters and guides’ home towns. Their families received us like part of the community and it was a great opportunity to get to know their culture. The second third of the hike went through Laurebina pass, 4500 m high. Truly amazing, some attitude adaption needed, but it is ok if you exercise regularly. The last third of the hike was the easiest and most touristic, through Lantang. More facilities and more people, but truly amazing. Finally, back to Katmandú via helicopter. After the trek, we spent some relaxing days in Katmandú, Bhaktapur and Nagarkot. I will end with the most important part of the review: the guide and porters that spend 10 days with us in the mountains. Besides organizing all the details very efficiently (not a single hiccup during the whole trek), they were charming, candid, and truly good persons. Spending these days with them in the mountains has been a blessing. If you have the opportunity, this is a great trip to do. …
