A lot of the trekking in Nepal is best when done during spring or autumn season. Similar is the case with Tilicho Lake trekking. Spring in Nepal falls during the months of March to May while Autumn is during the months of September to November. As Tilicho lies at a higher altitude, trekking during the winter can be almost impossible. During the spring and autumn seasons, the skies are clear with moderate wind, and mountain peaks are also clearly visible.
During the peak trekking season, the tea houses along with the lodges are fully functional providing the best services. Some of the experienced trekkers do trek in winters and monsoon but the trek is cold, rainy and sometimes limited with facilities.
One of the most asked queries about the Tilicho Lake trek is whether it is possible during monsoon or not. Monsoon in Nepal is a tough time for trekking. You will need to be experienced to complete the trek. During the monsoon season, the roads are slippery. Not only that the trails are also suffered from major landslide issues. All in all, it is tough to complete any trek.
With the heavy monsoon remaining a little longer in higher altitude regions, even the experienced trekkers find it tough. However having an experienced trekking agency like Karma Eco Adventure, things might be a bit easier.
The cost of trekking in Nepal depends upon the time taken along with the altitude of the trek. In the case of Tilicho Lake trekking, there is an average of 5 hours of trek every day.
The accurate cost for the Tilicho Lake trek is hard to determine. The cost however is directly related to the number of people in the group. Solo trekking and trekking in the group could be different. In order to know the exact cost and itinerary do contact Karma Eco Adventure.
