Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Thank you for choosing Langtang Region Trek as your next adventure destination. You will arrive on this day to Tribhuvan International airport, in Kathmandu. A representative from Karma eco adventure will transfer you at your hotel. You can take your time to stroll around and see the surrounding of your accommodation.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing and Preparation

On this day we get busy with couple of things; one making the last minute paperwork for your trekking and second, sightseeing some rare UNESCO world heritage sites. Meanwhile, our backend staff will make ready all the permits to take along on the trail. Simultaneously, our guide will help you get acquainted with the country by taking you to different heritage sites. In the evening, you will be briefed about your trek either in your hotel or over the dinner.

Day 03: Drive to syabru besi

This is the first day on the road to get to our trek put in destination. The choice of vehicle can differ from the package you opt to choose, ranging from public vehicle to a private vehicle. There are two ways to reach Shyapru Besi and the best way is the national highway namely Prithvi highway. The trip on a coiled highway and along one of the biggest tributaries of Trishuli takes roughly around 7 hours. Once in Shyapru Besi you will unload your luggage and call it a night.

Day 04: Syabru to lama hotel

Langtang is one of those destinations severely affected by the 2015 earthquake and it is visible from the very first day. Once you get your permits checked right at the beginning of the trek you are bound to Changthang, popularly known as Lama Hotel. Through the forests of rhododendron and pine you will trek through villages of Doman, Pairo, Bamboo and Renche, before you arrive at Lama Hotel. The lodges at Lama Hotel as well were destroyed severely by the earthquake which now has been constructed to serve the tourists. Overnight in Lama hotel.

Day 05: Lama hotel to langtang

It takes around 5 hours to reach the final destination with several breaks in between. From Lama hotel the trail climbs up to hamlets and forests to villages of Tsarding, Chamki, Gumba and then finally to Langtang. All the villages mentioned have been severely destroyed by landslide. The views of the himalayas in Langtang and Tibet get closer and clearer as you keep walking towards your final destination. Few teahouses are build just to serve food to the trekkers in the region but offer no accommodation. However, there are proper accommodation in Langtang. Overnight in Langtang.

Day 06: Langtang to kyanjin gompa

If you are well acclimatized you can trek to Kyanjin Gompa a day prior but we do not recommend you do so as you will surpass the recommended elevation. The trek takes around 4 hours with an easy pace and climb an elevation of 400+ meters. The trail from langtang climbs through rugged terrain and small yak herding villages of Mundu, Sindum and Yampha. Furthermore, the trail climbs along Langtang Khola all the way to Kyanjin Gompa. The mountains from Kyanjin looks more bigger, better and within the reach of your palms. Overnight in Kyanjin.

Day 07: Rest day

It is an additional day in Kyanjin Gompa and a wonderful opportunity to explore the valley, riverbeds and the splendid viewpoints. The gompa itself is a sight to watch. Although it has received severe cracks and damage from the quake, its murals are worth the watch. Furthermore, climbing to Tsergo Ri, a 5150 meter viewpoint in the valley, is the most rewarding viewpoints in the valley. The views from the summit are stunning with Langtang Lirung (7227 m), Yubra (6246 m), Changbu (6251 m), Tserko and Yala Peak and Naya Kanga (5844 m) and Kangja Himal. The peak also allows a good view of the Langtang Lirung Glacier. After spending some time you will fall back to Kyanjin for another night. Overnight in Kyanjin.

Day 08: Trek to Ganjala Phedi; 5-6 hrs.

Early in the morning after breakfast we will start our journey towards Ganjala Phedi. Trekking crew members will walk ahead of us. They need to prepare for the accommodation and food. From this day up to 3 nights we will have to use the tented accommodation. Get prepared as the trail has high scarcity of drinking water. Therefore, we need to have the big and strong crew members. Lunch will be in packed form. The idea of having the tented accommodation in the Ganjala Phedi is to prepare for the ascent successfully. Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 09: Ganjala Pass (5100m) Crossing; Trek to Keldang

This is the trickiest part of Ganjala Trekking. Always stay together and heed the instructions of the guide. You will have to use the crampons in some sections. There are numerous crevasses. Therefore, never go beyond the known trail. We will have to use the ladder for the ascent as well. Once at the top get the outstanding view of Sishapangma, Ganjala Peak, Langtang Lirung, Gaurishankar etc. Overnight at Keldang in tented accommodation

Day 10: Trek to Dhupku; 8-9 Hrs Downhill

On this day we will walk through Cedar Tree forests. It is completely downhill therefore especial care must be given. While walking downhill there is high chance of muscle cramps and joints tiredness. Therefore, make the gentle pace. Overnight at Tented Camp

Day 11: Trek to Tarkeghyang; 9-10 Hrs

We will have to walk early in the morning. This is grueling trekking section in terms of walking. Even if it is the longest hours of walking the scenery keeps you captivating. The reminder is that you will have to save drinking water. It is very scarce on the trail. Lama villages and green lush forests as well as the terraced farmlands help trekkers to forget the tiredness. Overnight at Teahouse/lodge

Day 12: Trek to Sermathang 4/5 Hrs

Sermathang is a very popular rest area that falls in the Helambu circuit. To make it to Sermathang, which takes around 4 - 5 hours, you head out of Tarke Ghyang hotel. You embark on the only trail that traverses through religiously and culturally rich Buddhist villages of Seti Ghyang and Gangyul. From the village of Gangyul you reach an unfinished road which leads in the beautiful village of Sermanthang. In Sermathang awaits beautiful views of mountains in the langtang range. Overnight in Sermathang.

Day 13: Sermathang to Baruwa (Camping overnight)

It is a very short walk to Baruwa village from Sermathang and this is the last village in the Helambu circuit. Despite very close to motorable road and having 700 household and being a large village, this is least developed village. In such a huge village exists no teahouses or very basic school and facilities. Overnigth in Baruwa village.

Day 14: Baruwa to melamchi bazaar (drive to Kathmandu)

The trail drops from Baruwa but more gently towards our final destination. As you leap forward towards Melamchi Bazaar, the settlements get more mixed and the villages turn into towns. Once in Melamchi Bazaar, which takes slightly above couple of hours in slow pace, you will board a vehicle to Kathmandu. When you reach Kathmandu our guide will transfer you to your hotel. Our Gosainkunda Ama Yangri trek officially comes to an end on this day. Thank you for choosing Karma eco adventure as your travel partner in Nepal!
